Joplin, Mo. -- A goal by Sarah Evers with just under 20 minutes to go lifted the Missouri Southern soccer team to a 1-0 win tonight on Senior Night over visiting Missouri Western.

Southern (4-8-4, 4-6-4 MIAA) was led offensively by Evers as the senior came off the bench to record four shots, two on goal and scored once. Shannon Kuhn assisted on Evers' goal and had a shot of her own, while Lindi Spilchen and Megan Stueve had two shots each. 

Western (2-9-5, 2-7-5 MIAA) received five shots from five different individuals. 

The Lions will be back in action on November 4 when they play host to Northwest Missouri at 6 pm on Hal Bodon Field.
