Maryville, Mo. – The Missouri Southern
Lions ended their two game road swing in MIAA play by defeating
Northwest Missouri State Bearcats 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
Southern got its scoring from junior midfielder Michelle Dimza as
she went 2-for-2 scoring both goals in the first half. The
first Lions goal was scored off of a rebound at the 32:04 mark and
Dimza scored her second goal of the match off of a header from
sophomore midfielder Corinne
Tebbs. Junior goalkeeper Randi Russell
recorded eight saves in shutting out her opponent for the third
time this season.
The Lions improved their record to 3-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in
the MIAA. Southern will next be in action at home at Hal
Bodon Field on October 7th to face the Bearcats of Southwest
Baptist University at 7pm.
