Kirksville, Mo. - The Missouri
Southern Women's Soccer team traveled to
Kirksville to take on the Truman State University Bulldogs and the
Lions came up short, 1-0, as Bulldog forward Olivia Hayes
capitalized on a defensive turnover to score the lone
goal of the game.
The Lions were led by junior midfielder Shannon Kuhn,
who tallied three shots, and junior forward Lindi
Spilchen, who recorded another two. Southern was out shot
13-10 for the game and 5-2 in shots on goal.
Junior goalkeeper Randi Russell
notched another impressive game in the net stopping four of the
five Truman shots on the day.
Missouri Southern falls to 3-6-4 overall and 3-4-4 in the
MIAA. The Lions will be in action next on Oct. 23 at Hal
Bodon Field in Joplin as they welcome the second ranked and MIAA
leading Jennies of Central Missouri to town. That kickoff is
scheduled for 1pm.
