Trent Scheer enters his first season as an Assistant Coach on the MSSU Lions men's basketball staff after spending the past three seasons on staff at Baker University.

He began as a Graduate Assistant during the 2022–2023 season, where he also served as Head Coach of the Varsity Reserve team. He was promoted to a full-time Assistant Coach in 2023, taking on responsibilities as Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator. Over the next two seasons, he helped lead the program to three consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances, including a Round of 16 finish in 2025. He was named the Heart of America Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2024–2025 season.

A native of Cheney, Ks., Scheer holds a degree in Business Management & Economics, and a Masters in Strategic Management.
