Missouri Southern State University Athletics

Joaquin Tapusoa was named MSSU Football's Defensive Assistant ahead of the 2026 season. He served as the Lions' Tight Ends Coach in 2025. 

Tapusoa played at Southern from 2020-2024. The offensive lineman from Fagasa, American Samoa, played in 38 games as a Lion.

He graduated from Missouri Southern with his bachelor's in general studies in 2025.

Joaquin is married to Laney Tapusoa (formerly Graham). Laney Tapusoa played goalkeeper on the Missouri Southern soccer team from 2020 to 2022.
