Akeem Judd was named MSSU Football's Running Backs Coach ahead of the 2025 season.
Judd comes to Joplin after spending the spring at New Mexico Military Institute.
Prior to New Mexico Military Institute, the Durham, North Carolina, native, worked at Benson High School, Southern Durham High School and Shaw University. At Benson HS, the team doubled its scoring and yards from the previous season.
With Judd on staff at Southern Durham HS, the offense rushed for over 1,500 yards and had five player get Power Four offers. Three of those players are currently ranked top-20 in the nation.
At Shaw University, the Bears led the CIAA in rushing, averaging 4.9 yards per carry for a school record and ranked second in the conference for touchdowns.
Judd earned his associate's degree from Georgia Military College in 2014 before graduating with his bachelor's from Ole Miss in 2017.
He helped lead Georgia Military College to the junior college national championship game as a sophomore. Judd also rushed for 1,247 yards and nine touchdowns over 25 games at Ole Miss.
He was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and also spent time with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers.
Akeem has three children, Akeem Judd Jr., Karon Judd and Aki Judd.
