2012: Sanders did not compete in any races during the 2012 season.

Prior to Southern: Sanders was a four-year letterwinner on the track for coach Steve Parker at Owasso HS ... Also a standout on the volleyball and basketball courts, Sanders was an All-Region selection in the 1,600 meters in 2008, while finishing ninth in the state meet in the same event ... She also finished fifth in the 4x800m relay in the state meet, while placing ninth at the 2009 400m state event ... she holds the distinction of medaling in every high school event she has ran in ... Sanders was also part of the third place team in the 4x800m in the young women's division at the USA Track and Field Championships last year ... She also helped her basketball and volleyball teams to state championships in 2007 and 2008, respectively.

Personal: The daughter of Kelly and Janice Sanders, Lauren intends to major in chemistry (pre-pharmacy) at Southern.
