2021 - Played in seven games, scored and stole a base in the Lions 16-8 win over Missouri S&T at the Teri Mathis-Zimmer (TMZ) Memorial Tournament (Feb. 27th) ... Named onto the MIAA Academic Honor Roll ... Part of the Lions team that was in Division II, second in triples (24), ninth in triples per game (0.52), 14^th in double plays turned (17), hit-by-pitches (42) and stolen bases (99). Finished 23^rd in stolen bases per game (2.15), 29^th in sacrifice bunts (32), 41^st in double plays turned per game (0.37) and 49^th in win-loss percentage (0.663). In the MIAA the Lions ranked first in double plays turned, stolen bases per game, stolen bases, triples and triples per game, second in double plays turned per game, hit-by-pitches and sacrifice bunts. Ranked third in on-base percentage (0.366) and scoring average (4.91), fourth in runs scored (226) and win-loss percentage, sixth in ERA (3.27), hits (345) and WHIP (1.46).

2020 - Played in one game during the 2020 COVID-19 shortened season... Had one stolen base ... Named to the MIAA transfer and first-year Acadmeic Honor Roll 

Prior to Southern - Arzate attended Glendora High School in La Verne, California where she was a three-year letter winner  for the Tartans under head coach Mike Quiroz … earned All-League honorable mention after batting .301 with 25 hits, 15 runs scored, and 11 RBIs along with a fielding percentage of .933 in the outfield on her way to assisting the squad to a second place finish in the  Palomares league and a round two berth into the  California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section playoffs as a senior … part of the team that won a League championship as sophomore in 2017 and a third place finish as a junior to conclude the 2018 season.

Personal - Daughter of Cynthia and Jamie, Kayla plans on majoring in sociology during her time at Southern.
