Prior to Southern
Jefferson started his collegiate career at Iowa where he was an honorable mention All-American in 2023 as part of the 4×400-meter relay team.
2024 — Indoor – ran season bests in 400 meters at New Mexico Collegiate Classic (47.85), 600 meters at B1G Championships (1:18.57), and 800 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite (1:54.36)… Outdoor – placed fifth in 400-meter hurdles with a season-best 52.63 at USF Alumni Invite.
2023 — Indoor – ran season bests in 400 meters at Meyo Invite (47.79) and 600 meters at B1G Championships (1:18.84)… Outdoor – honorable mention All-American, running third leg on 4×400-meter relay that placed 21st in 3:06.59 at NCAA Championships… won 400-meter hurdles with a collegiate-best 50.92 at Fighting Illini Classic… placed eighth in 400-meter hurdles at B1G Championships (52.51), running a 51.92 in prelims, and ran event at NCAA West Preliminary (52.11).
2022 — Indoor – placed seventh in 600 meters with a collegiate-best 1:17.76 at B1G Championships… ran season-best 47.96 in 400 meters at Tyson Invite… Outdoor – placed third in 400-meter hurdles at B1G Championships (51.43), running a collegiate-best 51.35 in prelims.
