Prior To Southern

Abbott trained under his father, Damian Abbott, and competed in hurdles for the DDS Athletes Club in San Antonio, Texas. In 2024, he placed fifth in the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships with a personal-best 400m hurdles time of 53.70 seconds. Abbott also competed in the 100-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, and 200-meter dash for the DDS Athletes Club.
