Prior to SouthernÂ
Gillum prepped at Rossville High School, where she competed in volleyball, basketball, and track and field for the Bulldawgs. A five-time state medalist, she was the state runner-up in the shot put in 2022 and a three-time regional champion in the event. Gillum holds the school record in the discus and was an All-League honoree all four years, earning All-County honors once. Her personal bests are 41'2" in the shot put and 135'11" in the discus.
Personal
Briar, the daughter of Colleen and Scott Gillum, is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Southern.
