Missouri Southern State University Athletics

2019 - Saw action in 25 games as she became the team’s main pitch runner in key situations down the stretch, scoring 11 runs on the season … one of 12 Lions to land on the MIAA Academic Honor roll (3.95 GPA).

2018 - red-shirted...one of two MIAA Freshman and Newcomer Academic Excellence recipients as well as one of 12 lions to land on the MIAA Academic Honor roll (4.0 GPA). 

Prior to Southern - Boyd comes to Southern from Purdy HS, where 
she  played three years at center field for the Lady Eagles...earned first team All-Conference honors as a sophomore in the outfield for PHS and was the Conference Player of the Year her junior season...was also a two-time first team All-District, All-Region, and All-State selection her sophomore and junior seasons...during her sophomore season, Boyd was named Chevy Player of the Week and as a junior was the Purdy HS team MVP while being named the Offensive Player of the Year both her sophomore and junior seasons...helped lead the Lady Eagles to conference and MSHSAA District 10 titles both her sophomore and junior seasons and a sectional championship her sophomore year.
 
Personal - Boyd was also a member of the basketball and volleyball teams at Purdy and is the daughter of Danny Boyd. Rion plans to major in pre-physical therapy at Southern.
