Tyson Williams were all named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Strange, Deaton and Sorrell were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced July 14, 2026.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
Jaden Deaton
Sr. | Poplar Bluff, Mo. | Distance Runner | Exercise Science | 3.53 GPA
Jaden Deaton represented Missouri Southern cross country at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships. A 2025 USTFCCCA All-Region selection, he competed in six cross country meets with one title and four top-10 finishes.
Deaton opened the campaign, taking first at the SBU Bearcat Cross Country Invitiational four-mile race in a career best 19:26.8 for MIAA Athlete of the Week honors.
He then placed fourth in the 8K at MSSU's Southern Stampede in a personal-best 23:46.3. The Poplar Bluff, Missouri, native was tabbed to the 2025 All-MIAA First Team, taking seventh (24:48.81) out of 110 runners at the league championships. Deaton crossed the 10K finish line at the Central Region sixth overall in 30:38.6.
During the 2026 indoor campaign, Deaton competed in six meets with four top-five finishes. He set career bests in the mile (4:08.49), 5,000 meters (14:20.58) and 3,000 meters (8:20.53). Deaton picked up All-MIAA honors in the 3,000 meters with a third place finish. He also was selected to the USTFCCCA Central All-Region Team for 5,000 meters.
Deaton ranks in the top-10 for MSSU program history (indoor) for mile (4:08.49, fourth), 3,000 meters (sixth) and 5,000 meters (seventh).
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete over the 2025 cross country and 2026 track & field seasons.
Travis Greenfield
Jr. | Marshfield, Mo. | Pole Vault | Healthcare Administration | 3.74 GPA
Travis Greenfield competed in seven meets over the 2026 indoor and outdoor track & field season. He registered two titles and five top-five finishes.
Greenfield won the pole vault with a career-best 5.08m (16-8) at the Rumble in the Jungle DII Invitational. He ranks eighth all-time in Missouri Southern program history. Greenfield also captured first at MSSU's 2026 Lion Open with a height of 4.88m (16-0).
The Marshfield, Missouri, native, finished eighth at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 4.89m (16-0.5).
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for both the 2026 indoor and outdoor seasons.
Caleb Leach
Jr. | Cassville, Mo. | Distance Runner | Exercise Science | 3.73 GPA
Caleb Leach competed in 16 meets over the cross country (5) and track & field (11, six indoor, five outdoor) seasons over the 2025-26 academic year.
He finished the 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championship 8K in 26:49.6 (62nd) and posted a career-best 10K time of 33:09.6 (89th) at the 2025 NCAA DII Central Region Championships.
On the track, Leach set personal bests in the 3,000 meters (8:49.22), mile (4:16.58), 5,000 meters (15:04.15) and 1,500 meters (3:54.18).
He finished the mile in 12th (4:17.75) at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championship. At the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Championship, he competed in the 1,500 meters (3:59.52, 13th) and 5,000 meters (16:50.13, 28th).
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll over the 2025-26 academic year.
Chase Sorrell

Chase Sorrell competed in 11 meets over the cross country (6) and track & field (5) seasons over the 2025-26 academic year. He represented Missouri Southern cross country at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships.
Sorrell was named to the 2025 USTFCCCA All-Region Team as he finished 18th in the 10K at the 2025 NCAA DII Central Region in a personal-best 31:15.2.
He took 23rd in the 8K at the 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championships (25:34.1).
Indoors on the track, Sorrell, captured two titles and five top-five finishes. He won the mile (4:06.38) at the Rumble in the Jungle DII Invitational and the 800 meters (1:55.84) at MSSU's 2026 Lion Open.
He earned All-MIAA honors in both the mile (4:10.47) and distance medley relay (9:47.70) with a pair of second place finishes at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships. The Neosho, Missouri, native, earned 2026 USTFCCCA Central All-Region honors for the DMR.
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete over the 2025 cross country and 2026 track & field seasons.
Garrett Strange
R-Jr. | Osceola, Mo. | Javelin | Psychology | 3.90 GPA
Garrett Strange picked up 2026 First Team All-American honors for the Javelin by both NCAA and USTFCCCA. He finished sixth overall at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 69.68m (228-7).
Strange competed in 11 meets over the 2026 track & field season, placing first in javelin at Arkansas Twilight with 65.75m (215-8). He finished eighth (64.28m, 210-11) in the javelin at the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
He was also named to the 2026 USTFCCCA Central All-Region Team for the discipline.
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for both the 2026 indoor and outdoor seasons.
Tyson Williams
R-So. | Lamar, Mo. | Thrower | Criminal Justice | 3.66 GPA
Tyson Williams competed in 16 meets over the 2026 indoor (7) and outdoor (9) track & field seasons. He had 10 top-five finishes.
Williams earned All-MIAA honors in hammer throw at the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Championships with a career-best mark of 61.67m (202-4) for third. He ranks seventh in MSSU program history with the distance. Williams also placed 13th in discus (48.68m, 159-8) at the league championships.
At the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships, he notched a PR weight throw of 19.94m (65-5) for seventh. Williams ranks ninth in MSSU program history with the mark.
Academically, he was selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete over the 2026 track & field seasons.
