Commerce, Texas - The Missouri Southern softball team fell to No. 25 Texas A&M Commerce by a final score of 7-1 inside the John Cain Family Softball Complex Monday afternoon.
Commerce (13-1) struck first with a run in the bottom of the first, but the Southern (4-9) responded as
Elizabeth Windsor singled in
Lexi Ferrari after Ferrari tripled to right field on a 0-2 count.
Windsor added another single to finish the day 2-for-2 at the plate.
Shelby Friend and Ferrari each went 2-for-3, including Ferrari's triple which put her in position to score the only run for MSSU.
A&M loaded the bases in the bottom half of the second and poured in five runs on five hits to break the tie, and take a 6-1 lead into the third. Commerce scored another run in the fifth to push its lead to six.

Abby Atkin allowed a single run on one hit, while striking out four batters in four innings of relief.
