Canyon, Texas - The Missouri Southern Softball team lost their first three games at the WT Invitational at Buffalo Sports Park on the campus of West Texas A&M University on Friday.

In the first game of the day against Cameron, senior Sarah Morrison led the offensive attack going 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. In the second game of the day against Chadron State, the Lions fell behind 5-0 headed into the bottom of the fourth before Stewart and Friend had back-to-back RBI singles to left. Southern cut the Chadron State lead down to one in the sixth with three runs off an RBI single to left from sophomore Ashley Caldarella, an error by the Eagles' catcher, and a RBI bases loaded walk from Morrison. CSC scored two runs in the top of the seventh to make it 8-5 before Friend scored on an infield fly rule and sophomore Kylie Wesbrooks, running for sophomore Bailey Skelton, scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-7.

In the final game of the day against RMAC's Fort Lewis College, Southern came out with the early 4-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the second and a pair of runs scored of a double from Erika Lutgen and a sacrifice fly from Caldarella in the third.
