Halto, a junior from Thornfield, Mo., helped the Lions to a tie for sixth place at the first MIAA points event of the season, playing The Mule at the University of Central Missouri this week. He shot an opening round 71, then followed that up with a two-under 68 to finish the day Monday.
He then finished the tournament on Tuesday by shooting a 74 to finish with a 213, just two shots off of the leader. Haltom was the second-highest finishing MIAA golfer but earned top points in the event as he was golfing as one of the five scoring members for the Lions.
