Barton won the Discus and the Hammer Throw events at the ESU Relays for his first outdoor wins of the season. In the Discus had an NCAA Qualifying mark of 53.42m and the Hammer Throw was an NCAA Qualifying mark of 63.64m the seventh best mark in program history.
