Kimutai helped the sixth-ranked Lions repeat as team champions and qualify for the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships that will be held in Sacramento, Calif. on November 23. It is the second time since 2009 the Lions have won a Regional Championship and is the lowest amount of points (52) scored by the program in regional history, besting the 55 points they scored last year. Kimutai repeated as the individual champion and the sophomore has won every event he has raced in this season. He traversed the 10k course in a time of 29:14.5, besting his time from last year by more than 30 seconds.
