Buerge broke a school record and qualified for the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships as the women's track and field team competed at Pittsburg State. The junior thrower broke a nearly 11-year old record as she hit an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 52-01.25 (15.88m) to win the shot put. The mark was 4.5 inches beyond the previous record held by Jessica Selby-Tallman.
