Harley is in his third year at Missouri Southern State
A native of Colorado, he was born and raised in Burlington, on the eastern plains and has been a small farming community that takes pride in its high school athletics. Harley competed in football, and track & field at Burlington High School where he qualified for State in track & field all four years of his high school career. He also took it upon himself to travel to a town an hour away from Burlington to compete in cross country his senior year of school. This gave him the chance to attend Colby Community College where he competed as a collegiate athlete in cross country and track & tield, in the Jayhawk Conference in Kansas.
After completing 2 years of education at Colby he received
academic honors for his athletics and made a total of four national
appearances, one for Cross Country, two for indoor track, and
another for outdoor track. He left Colby Community College with an
Associate of Science Degree in hope to pursue a degree in physical
therapy. Beck transferred to the University of Northern
Colorado and earned a degree in athletic training.
From there, Beck interned at Missouri Southern, where later he became a member of the Freeman Health System Family. He is currently working on his Master’s in Education while living in Joplin with his fiancé and their dog Cookie.
