Kyle Rosseau begins his first year as an assistant coach for the Missouri Southern men's track and field and cross country programs. He will focus on the distance runners for the Lions.
A four-year letter winner at the University of North Dakota, Rosseau comes to Southern after serving as the head cross country and track and field coach at the McCrossan Boy's Ranch in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There his teams competed in South Dakota class B meets and he was responsible for working with the corss country and mid/long distance runners.
Prior to McCrossan, Rosseau served as an assistant coach for the 2011-12 season at the South Dakota State University, while spending the 2010-11 season as an assistant at his alma mater, North Dakota.
While a student-athlete at UND, Rosseau was part of a school-record setting distance medley relay team, while serving as the cross country team captain and MVP in 2008. He set his personal best in the 800m with a fifth place time of 1:54.40 in the 2009 Great West Conference indoor meet.
In the classroom, Rosseau was an academic All-American in 2007, while being hamed to the North Central Conference academic honor roll in 2008. He was part of the Great West Conference All-Academic team in both 2009 and 2010 and graduated from North Dakota Cum Laude in 2011. He earned his masters degree from South Dakota State in 2013.
Rosseau is a native of Rosemount, Minnesota.
