Women's Cross Country finishes third at Jackling Jocks Invite

Rolla, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team had two runners place in the top ten and six in the top 27 as the Lions placed third overall at the 2013 Jackling Jocks Invite hosted by Missouri S&T today in Rolla. 

Dora Eastin placed second overall as she ran the 5k course in a time of 18:19.91. Addie Mengwasser was tenth with a time of 18:50.32, while Kizzy Kirby and Dana Roberson placed 18th and 19th, wit times of 19:24.86 and 19:26.45, respectively. 

Sierra Gray placed 21st with a time of 19:28.18, while Kayla Bartelsmeyer placed 27th in a time of 19:49.62. Kelly Jo Roberts was 41st, while Jet Hovis placed 43rd. 

Southwest Baptist took the team title with a total of 20 points as the Bearcats had four runners in the top five. Drury was second with a total of 68, while the Lions were third with 70 points. Missouri S&T was fourth, tied with McKendree, while Lindenwood, Lincoln, Arkansas Tech and Webster University, rounded out the team scores. 

Southern will be back in action on Oct. 26, taking part in the 2013 MIAA Cross Country Championships, held at Pittsburg State.
