Former Lions win St. Louis St. Patrick's Day Race

St. Louis, Mo. -- The husband and wife duo of Margaret Lyons (Miklovic) and Brian Lyons  were crowned as race winners for the prestigious St. Louis St. Patrick Day Race ahead of 13,000 other runners.

Both runers ran the 5 mile course under 30 minutes as Brian finished in a time of 25:02 and Margaret crossed the finish line in 28:48.
This was the second time each of these former Missouri Southern All-Americans were declared the winner, but the first time they attained the honors as a couple.
Margaret easily outdistanced the females but Brian was pursued by two former Southern All-American runners, Karl Gilpin and Magnus Holmstrom.
"I know the feeling of both being insanely excited and exhausted at the finish line," Brian said.  "The pressure was on me to match Margaret's first place finish."
Congratulations to all the former Lions for their showing in the St. Louis St. Patrick's Day Race.
