Women's Cross Country head south to compete in 2011 NCAA DII South Central Regionals
Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team will head to Wichita Falls, Texas to compete in the 2011 NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships tomorrow morning.
The Lions will compete in the 6k course beginning at 9 am. Hawk Ridge Golf Course and Midwestern State University will serve as hosts for the event.
The Lions are coming off of a second-place finish at the 2011 MIAA Cross Country Championships where junior Marlee Tegenkamp placed second. Southern comes into the meet ranked fourth regionally and 19th nationally.
The top two teams to finsh the race and the top two individuals not associated with an advancing team will advance to the 2011 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Seattle, Wash. Complete coverage of the races can be found here.
