Women's cross country ranked 17th nationally, 2nd regionally to open the season
Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team has been ranked 17th nationally and second in the region in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association preseason polls released today by the organization.
The Lions, a preseason favorite to win the MIAA title, are one of five teams ranked in the South Central Region from the MIAA, and just one of two ranked nationally, joining Truman State (18th).
Southern will open up the regular season at the University of Arkansas on September 2. The complete regional and national polls are listed below.
