Women's volleyball falls in battle of Lions

Fort Smith, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team fell three sets to none tonight in non-conference action as the Lions dropped a match at Arkansas-Fort Smith. 

Southern (4-23) was led offensively from Nai Montano as the senior had six kills and three digs. Mikayla Avery had five kills and eight digs, while Sydney Wheeler and Abby Finder had nine and eight assists, respectively. Wheeler added nine digs, while Krishna Merriman had six digs of her own. 

Arkansas-Fort Smith (19-6) was led by Michelle Walker with nine kills. Maja Krstonosic had 24 assists and Olivia Navato had 11 digs. 

The first set had five tied scores and two lead changes, while set two had three ties and no lead changes. UAFS led from start to finish in the final set. 

The Lions will be back in action on Nov. 9 traveling to Bolivar to take on Southwest Baptist. First serve is set for 2:30 pm.
