Southern volleyball falls 3-0 at No. 6 Central Missouri

Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team fell in MIAA action tonight at sixth ranked Central Missouri, losing three sets to none. Individual set scores were 9-25, 10-25, 16-25. 

Southern (3-5, 0-1 MIAA) was led offensively by Nai Montano as the senior had three kills and hit .222. Sydney Wheeler had three assists and three kills, while Chyanne Crandall added seven assists of her own. Krishna Merriman and Danielle Severns had six digs each, while Mikayla Avery and Katie Politte had five of their own. 

Central (10-0, 1-0 MIAA) hit .316 as a team and were led offensively by 10 kills from Haley Thompson. Julia Bates added 24 assists, while Annie Reilly had 12 digs. 

The Lions had four team blocks, led by two each from both Payton Graves and Merriman. 

Southern will be back in action this Saturday as the Lions welcome Northwest Missouri for their home opener. First serve is set for 6 pm from Young Gymnasium.
