In High School: Erwin started four years at Webb City for coach Rhonda Moore at middle blocker. She was a four-time, first-team All-Conference and All-District selection, while being named All-Region three times. Also a basketball and track athlete at Webb City, Erwin was a two-time, first-team All-Conference selection for coach Walter Resa and the Cardinals on the hardwood. She also holds the WCHS school record in the 200 meter dash, 100 meter dash and the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays. 

At Seminole State: Erwin helped the team to a regional and conference championship, while being named the conference MVP this past season. She ranked ninth nationally in blocks and 24th in hitting percentage, while being a top 20 blocker as a freshman. She was an All-Region and All-Conference selection. The daughter of Kevin and Kim Ervin, Kelsey is a communications major at Southern.
