Warrensburg, Mo. -- Missouri Southern freshman Kaylee Morgan placed fifth today in the pentathlon at the 2013 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Morgan won the long jump as part of the event with a distance of 17-10.25. She finished the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.40, while clearing a height of 5-1 in the high jump.
She threw the shot put 28-00.25 and finished the 800m in a time of 2:40.77. Morgan earned 3187 points, a season-high for her and earned the Lions four points to their team total.
Sophomore Emily Paullus placed 12th in the pentathlon with 2925 points. She finished just ahead of Morgan in the 800m with a time of 2:40.11, while hitting a height of 4-8.25 in the high jump.
The Lions will continue the Championships tomorrow and Sunday.
