25th ranked MSSU Women's Track plays host to MSSU Invitational

Track and Field Top 25 Poll

Joplin, Mo. -- The 25th ranked Missouri Southern Women's Track and Field team will play host to the MSSU Invitational this Friday and Saturday at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center. Action will begin at 2:30 pm on Friday and 10:30 am on Saturday. 

The Lions are one of three MIAA teams nationally ranked in the first poll the Coaches Association has put out this season. Lincoln is No. 2, while Central Missouri is 10th. 

Southern has five athletes that are ranked among the top 20 in their events this season. Jackie Wallace comes into the event ranked 18th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.95. Melanie Bower and Ashleigh McFarland are both ranked 17th in the pole vault with heights of 11-5.75. Kaylee Morgan is ranked fifth in the long jump with a distance of 18-6, while Brittni Reagan is ranked 8th in the long jump (18-4.25) and 12th in the triple jump (38-0.75). 

Action will kick off on Friday at 2:30 pm.
