Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern senior thrower Nicole Green has been named a third-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and Capital One.
Green, a native of Carthage, had also previously been named to the Academic All-District team and was an MIAA Academic Honor Roll member, as well as an MIAA Scholar-Athlete.
To be given this honor, a student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.30 GPA and be of at least a sophomore in academic standing. Student-athletes in the in the district include the MIAA, Lone Star Conference, Great American Conference and Heartland Conference. Green currently maintains a 3.64 GPA in education.
Green is a four-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, as well as being named an MIAA Scholar-Athlete three times. She has been a four-year member of the MSSU Dean's List and was All-MIAA in both the indoor and outdoor shot put this year, while earning All-American status in in both events, placing fifth in the indoor and fourth in the outdoor track and field championships.
She is a five-time All-American in her career and was named the MSSU Female Athlete of the Year this year.
