Vengels in fourth after day one of the 2012 MIAA Hepathlon
Emporia, Kan. -- Missouri Southern senior Lisa Vengels is in fourth place and freshman Emily Paullus is 10th after day one of the 2012 MIAA Heptathlon at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emporia.
Vengels won the high jump and placed fifth in the shot put and sixth in each of the 100m hurdles and 200m dash. PAullus was eighth in the 200m, while placing ninth in the 100m hurdles, 11th in the high jump and 13th in the shot.
Vengels has 3095 points after day one and sits 196 points back of first place Lindsay Lettow of Central Missouri. Paullus has 2554 points after day one.
Vengels and Paullus will finish up the final four events tomorrow.
