Women's track qualifies three for nationals

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team has qualified three individuals for the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held on March 9-10 in Mankato, Minn. 

The Lions, fresh off a third place finish at this past weekend's 2012 MIAA Indoor Championships, are ranked 20th nationally and No. 3 in their region. 

senior Nicole Green, All-MIAA in the shot put at the MIAA Championships, is seeded sixth in the shot put this year. Freshman Melanie Bower and sophomore Vanessa Langford went 1-2 in the pole vault at the MIAA meet and both earned All-MIAA status. Langford and Bower both come into the national meet seeded 11th.
