Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's indoor track and field team picked up four titles at the 2011 Central Missouri Mule Relays today at the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
The Lions won the pole vault, long jump, 800m run and the 4x400m relay on the night.
Vanessa Langford picked up the title in the pole vault with a season-high height of 11-00.75, while Sydney Haase placed second at a height of 10-6.75. Lindsey Bragg picked up the title in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, seven inches, while placing seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 33-8.75.
Olga Bulgurova won the 800m run with a time of 2:25.02, while Codi Fritchie was ninth in the event. The 4x400m relay team of Jasmin Hughes, Alex Close, Kelly McKay and Carita Riutta finished eight seconds in front of its nearest competition in taking the title in a time of 4:10.68.
In other action, Nicole Green placed third in both the shot put and weight throw. She had a provisional distance of 45-3.50 in the shot and hit 51-1 in the weight. Kylie Cornman placed 10th in the shot and 16th in the weight.
Rachel Olinyk was fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-3, while McKay placed third in the 600 yard in a time of 1:29.50. Hughes was second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.87, while Bragg was 11th and Tia Cook and JeAnna Sheppard placed 16th and 17th, respectively.
Victoria Kline was fifth in the 3k with a time of 10:51.19, while Marlee Tegenkamp (5:24.53) and Maggie Tennal were 4th and 6th, respectively in the mile. Close placed 6th in the 400m with a time of 1:02.38, while Elizabeth Corcoran was tenth in the event. Hughes was fifth in the 60m with a time of 7.89, while Sheppard (9.44) and Kasey Meadows placed 6th and 11th in the 60m hurdles.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend when they play host to the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
