Soccer's Jenisch earns Academic All-District Honors for second consecutive year

Joplin, Mo. - Senior defender Megan Jenisch of the Missouri Southern soccer team was named to the 2013 Captial One Academic All-District 7 Women's soccer first team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.

Earning this honor for the second consecutive year, Jenisch is a biology major who has posted a 3.95 GPA during her time at Southern. Playing in 10 games for the Lions so far this fall, the Ozark, Mo. native has helped the Lions pitch four shutouts while holding opponents to a .113 shooting percentage.  Appearing in 46 games for the Lions in her career, Jenisch has helped Southern record 14 shutouts in her career.

The Lions wrap up MIAA action this weekend at home hosting Missouri Western on Friday at 7 p.m. and Northwest Missouri on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Both games will be played at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
