Two second-half goals lift Nebraska-Omaha over Lions 2-1

Omaha, Neb. -- A pair of second-half goals lifted Nebraska-Omaha over the visiting Missouri Southern soccer team 2-1 tonight in MIAA soccer action in Omaha. 

The Lions (3-8-4, 3-6-4 MIAA) got on the board first as Cortney Sanders converted a penalty kick at the 19-minute mark of the first half and Southern would take a 1-0 lead into the break. 

Omaha (8-7-1, 8-5-1 MIAA) answered back and tied the match in the 53rd minute with a goal from Jordyn Braun, and went ahead with a score from Danielle Archuleta in the 67th minute. 

Sanders had two shots on goal, while Lindsay Altman had two shots, one on goal. Randi Russell had four saves in goal for the Lions. 

Southern will be back in action this Saturday evening when the Lions play host to Missouri Western at 7 pm at Hal Bodon Field. The game will be senior night for the three Lions' seniors on the roster.
