Women's Basketball adds junior college transfer for 2012-13

Joplin, Mo. – Missouri Southern women's basketball coach Maryann Mitts has announced the signing of Tee Singleton to a national letter of intent to attend Southern and play women's basketball beginning this fall.

Singleton is a 5-7 point guard that transfers to Southern after two years at Jefferson (Mo.) College. A native of Harvey, La., Singleton prepped at Hellen Cox High School prior to attending Jefferson.

At JC, Singleton played in 15 games last season as a sophomore where she averaged 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 41 percent from the floor and 30 percent from long-range. She helped lead the Vikings to a 31-5 record and a trip to the national semi-finals. The team finished the season ranked seventh. As a freshman, she played in 21 games and averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

A three-year starter at Hellen Cox, Singleton was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons. She also competed on the track and field team, participating in the 4x100, 4x400, long and triple jump, as well as the high jump.

The daughter of Daron Hameen, Tee will be a criminal justice major at Southern.

She brings a contagious, competitive nature to the floor and is able to make to the players around her better due to her dribble penetration, passing, and ability to finish offensively."
