2009- Played in 57 of the Lions' 58 games, starting 55 of them. Led the team with a .284 batting average, 34 runs scored and three triples en route to being named honorable mention All-MIAA. She was also 12-14 stealing bases. On the mound, Volkmann made seven appearances starting five games. She finished with a 7.92 ERA.

High School: Started three years for the Hornets where of N. Kansas City HS where she was a first team All-Conference, All-District and All-Metro selection ... A four-sport athlete at NKCHS, Volkmann lettered in basketball, volleyball and track, where she was a sectional qualifier on the 4x100m team.
