Kansas City, Mo. -- Missouri Southern junior distance runner Eric Schott has been named the MIAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league office today.
It is the second such honor for the 5-8, Cape Girardeau, Mo. native as Shott won both MIAA and National Runner of the Week after week one.
Schott helped the Lions to a third place finish in the college division at the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival last weekend. The Lions trailed just No. 6 ranked Augustana and No. 22 ranked West Texas A&M in the team standings. Schott was the second-highest finishing division two runner as he raced through the 8k course in a time of 25:00.9 and placed 14th overall.
The eighth ranked Lions will be back in action October 12, traveling to Rolla, Mo. to compete in the Jackling Jocks Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T.
