Men's Cross Country head to Texas for 2011 NCAA D-II South Central Regional Meet

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team will head to Wichita Falls, Texas to compete in the 2011 NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships tomorrow morning. 

The Lions will compete in a 10k competition at the Hawk Ridge Golf Course beginning shortly after the completion of the women's race which begins at 9 am. 

Southern finished third in the 2011 MIAA Cross Country Championships, narrowly being edged by Northwest Missouri. Freshman Eric Schott placed ninth in the event and was the league's Freshman of the Year. The Lions come into the regional meet ranked fifth in the region. 

The top two teams to finsh the race and the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the 2011 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Seattle, Wash. Complete coverage of the races can be found here.
