Rolla, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team had four finish in the top 11 spots, and took home the team title today at the Jackling Jocks Invite hosted by Missouri S&T in Rolla.
Eric Schott led the effort for the Lions with a second-place finish, traversing the five mile course in a time of 25:29. Andrew Webster and Jake Benton were fourth and fifth, respectively, finishing just two seconds apart, while Alex Mason finished 11th in a time of 26:06. Trey Berry placed 15th with a time of 26:12, while Colton Wooldridge was 18th. Adrian Todd and Andrew Webb placed 24th and 27th, respectively, while Sam Pogue and Tony Crowder were 51st and 64th.
The Lions finished with 37 team points, nine points in front of second place Northwest Missouri. Harding was third, followed by Missouri S&T, Pittsburg State, Drury, William Jewell, Maryville and Truman State.
The Lions will have a week off before the MIAA Championships on Oct. 22 as Southern will play host to the event at the MSSU Cross Country Course.
