Men's shot put highlights Jayhawk Classic for men's track and field

Lawrence, Kan. -- Dustin Green and Seth Hackney went fifth and sixth in the shot put, both picking up provisionals, as the Lions competed at the Jayhawk Classic on the campus of the University of Kansas. 

Green picked up a provisional with a fifth place distance of 53-3.75, moving just in front of teammate Evan Moore on the national list at 15th. Hackney was sixth with a provisional distance of 51-9.75, while Moore placed 15th. Moore was sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 55-5.75, while Green placed 13th in the event. 

Andrew Webster placed second in the mile with a time of 4:20.49, just two tenths of a second behind the winner. Jazz Allen placed 7th in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.51, while placing 27th in the 400m. 

Anthony Price was 11th in the 200m, with a time of 22.91, just two tenths off of a provisional. Michael Juergens picked up a provisional in the pole vault with a 10th place height of 6-1.25, while Clark Tanksley was seventh in the high jump with a height of 6-6.75. 

Darion Boure was 16th in the long jump (21-8), while placing seventh in the triple jump with a provisional distance of 47-5. Dominique Jenkins placed 12th in the triple in a distance of 45-7. 

The Lions will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, playing host to the MSSU Lion Invite inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
