Men's track finishes up regular season at ESU Twilight

Emporia, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team competed in its final event before outdoor nationals today as the Lions took part in the Emporia State Twilight Qualifier today. 

Clark Tanksley placed second in the high jump with a provisional mark of 6-09.75. Michael Juergens picked up a provisional in the pole vault with a height of 15-11.25. Taylor McClelland nearly missed a provisional in the long jump with a distance of 23-04.75, while Darion Boure placed eighth in the event. 

Boure won the triple jump, however, with a provisional distance of 49-01.00, while Jayce Thomas was third. Seth Hackney and Dustin Green placed seventh and eighth in the shot put, while Green was sixth and Nicklas Polizzi was eighth in the discus.  

Zach Williams was fifth in the javelin, while Jeff Fraley nearly missed a provisional in his third different sprint event with a second place showing in the 400m, finishing in a time of 48.57. 

The Lions will find out this week who has qualified for nationals in Pueblo, Colo.
