Lions in fourth place after day two at 2012 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Champmionships
Emporia, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team is in fourth place after day two of the 2012 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emporia, Kan.
Freshman Jeff Fraley qualified for the finals in both the 200m and the 100m, qualifying second in the 100m and first in the 200m. Fraley's qualifying time of 10.30 in the 100m breaks his previous school record in the event he set last weekend.
In other action, Anthony Price qualified for the finals of the 400m, while Jazz Allen qualified in the 400m hurdles. Eric Schott placed fourth in the 10k with a time of 32:14.13, while Jake Benton and Adrian Todd placed ninth and 11th, respectively.
Darion Boure was seventh in the long jump, while Taylor McClelland and Clark Tanksley placed ninth and tenth. Nicklas Polizzi earned All-MIAA status with a third place finish in the discus in a distance of 167-09. Dustin Green was fourth in the event. Green earned All-MIAA status with a third place finish in the hammer (175-07), while Polizzi was 13th in the event.
In the pole vault, Michael Juergens was fourth with a height of 15-06.25, while Raymond Woldvedt and John Lowe placed seventh and tenth. In the decathlon, Jayce Thomas finished sixth with 6074 points.
Day three of the Championships will begin tomorrow morning at 10 am.
