Fayetteville, Ark. -- Missouri Southern junior thrower Seth Hackney picked up a provisional distance in the shot put today and won the event as the Lions competed at the University of Arkansas.
Hackney tossed a distance of 52-8.75 in his final attempt to pass teammate Dustin Green who finished second in the event with a distance of 51-6.50. Hackney's throw suprasses his previous high this season by 2.25 inches and ranks 12th in Div. II. Green also placed third in the weight throw, but was the top Division II performer with a distance of 51-5.50.
The Lions had a trio of athletes compete in the pole vault with junior John Lowe placing fourth with a provisional height of 15-7. Sophomore Raymond Woldtvedt placed fifth with a height of 14-7.25, while sophomore Jarret Keller was 12th with a height of 13-1.25.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend competing at the University of Nebraska.
