Strong men's 200 highlights day one of Radio Shack Invite

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team put five runners in the top ten of the 200m today in day one of the 2011 Radio Shack Invitational at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center. 

Clark Tanksley placed third in the 200m with a time of 22.71, while Kevin Wright and Dustin Roofener placed fourth and sixth. Jacob Khan and Jerry Jones were 8th and 9th, while Zach Reece and Ricardo Greer placed 12th and 16th, respetively. 

Southern also had five athletes in the top 11 of the long jump led by Jerry Jones placing second. He jumped to a distance of 22-10, while Tanksley placed third with a distance of 22-8.50. Taylor McClelland was 8th, while Jacob Rowe, Michael Juergens and Raymond Woldtvedt placed 10th, 11th and 13th, respecitvely. Caleb Careny and Jarret Keller placed 15th and 16th in the long jump. 

Nick Grosso was third in the weight throw with a distance of 49-11.25, while Roofener qualified for the finals of the 60m dash and Kevin Wright and Greer qualified in the 60m hurdles. 

The final day of the Invitational will take place tomorrow beginning at 10:30 am.
