DMR victorious in day one of Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invite

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's distance medley relay team was victorious in day one of the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational today a the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin.  

The DMR team consisted of Sam Pogue, Zach Reece, Brandon Weaver and Viktor Kuk and after a drop in a handoff, the team rebounded to take the event in a time of 10:39.39.

In other action, Clark Tanksley placed second in the long jump with a provisional distance of 23-05.25. Jerry Jones was sixth in the event, while Taylor McClelland and Jacob Rowe were 15th and 19th, respectively. Michael Juergens was 23rd in the long jump, while Caleb Carney, Raymond Woldtvedt and Jarret Keller placed 29th, 30th, and 31st.

Jazz Allen and Kevin Wright both qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles with times of 8.44 and 8.67, respectively. Tanksley placed 7th in the 200m with a time of 22.66, while Jones, Dustin Roofener and Jacob Khan were 14th, 27th and 28th. Alex Mason and Jake Benton were 16th and 17th in the 3k, while Andrew Webb placed 27th.

Nick Grosso was ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 47-7.50, while Tyler Burgess placed 11th with a distance of 46-02.50.

The team will concluded the invite tomorrow morning beginning at 10:30 am.
