Lions men race at Greater Louisville Open

Louisville, Ky. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team raced to a 36th place finish today at the Greater Louisville Open hosted by the University of Louisville. 

In a race that included 38 teams, much of them Division I, Southern raced against some of the top tier Division II teams, as well as this course will be the site of the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championship meet. 

The Lions were led by freshman Viktor Kuk who placed 68th with a time of 24:49 .79. Nick Niggemann was 148th, while Jake Benton was 166th. Sam Pogue placed 239th, while Andrew Webb and Michael Weiss placed 278th. Alex Mason was 281st. 

The race included 38 teams and 323 runners. 

The Lions will be back in action on October 16th, racing at the Chili Pepper Invitational at the University of Arkansas.
