At Southern (Football) - A defensive back on the Lions' football squad when he isn't running track.
2010-11: Indoor: Competed in two races... Ran the 60m dash at the Holiday Inn Invite in 7.51... At the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational ran 7.44 for the 60m dash.
2009-10: Indoor: Competed in the 60m and 200m dash... Had a season best performance of 6.99 in the 60m dash at the MIAA Championships placing 11th. Also competed in the 200m dash and the 5th place 4x400m relay... Finished 11th at the UCM Classic in the 200m dash with a season best of 23.13; Outdoor: Competed in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay... Ran 10.94 in the 100m dash for 5th place at the Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invite. Also was a leg of the provisional qualifying 4x100m relay (40.93), setting a new school record and qualifying for the NCAA DII National Championships in Charlotte, NC... At the MIAA Outdoor Championships competed in the 100m and 200m dash, also was a member of the runner-up 4x100m team... helped the MSSU 4x100m relay to a 5th place showing at the NCAA DII National Championships, garnering All-American status in a school record 40.66.
Prior to Southern: A transfer from Missouri Valley College where he played both football and ran track.
In High School: Bembry went to Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Mo. where he participated in both track and football for the Vikings ... a two year letterwinner on both squads, Bembry was a two-time state qualifier in track in the 100m dash, placing fifth in the 100m his senior year ... also qualified for the 400m dash and was a district champion in the 100m, 200m, and 400m races ... he holds the school record in both the 100m (10.6) and 400m (49.76).
Personal: The son of Maurice and Calvin Bembry, Maurlon is a psychology and public relations double-major at Southern.
