Golf in a tie for 10th place after day one at Saint Cloud Husky Classic

Saint Cloud, Minn. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in a tie for tenth place after day one of the Saint Cloud State Husky Classic held today at St. Cloud Country Club.

Freshman Taylor Lansford is leading the effort for the Lions as he is tied for eighth after a two-over 74 in the first round. Ryan Buerk and Andrew Maier both shot an 80, while Ethan Hutcheson had an 81 and Ryan Russell finished with an 83.

Bemidji State is in first place, eight strokes in front of Concordia-St. Paul's A team. Minot State is in third, while the St. Cloud A team is in fourth. Manitoba's A team is in fifth, while Minnesota State, Lincoln, Minnesota-Crookston, Winona State, Manitoba's B team, Southern and St. Cloud's B team round out the top ten. Western is 13th, while Concordia-St. Paul's B team is 14th and North Central is in 15th.  

The Lions will finish the event tomorrow as action tees off at 8:30 am.
